Blasts From The Past

Twenty years ago the Frederick County Art Association was a brand new organization, formed in December of 1979. The original 1979 membership list names 20 artists, a few of whom are still members today! By July of 1980 the membership doubled to 40 and today we have 100 members.

1979 members who are still with us today:

  • Marilu Tousignaut
  • Harry Richardson
  • Charlotte Hoover

Twenty years ago the Francis Scott Key Mall was the site of the first FCAA Spring Members Show. The show was only one day on Saturday, May 31, 1980. Of the artists showing that day were current members, Gail Bradshaw, Judith Diggs, Charlotte Hoover, Rena Larkin, and Marilu Tousignaut. FCAA has come along way since the early days of showing at the mall. The Delaplaine Visual Arts and Education Center main gallery now makes a beautiful setting to show off our talents to the fullest.
